Create a Referral
A Program is a company that offers a signup incentive for new users, usually a bonus is paid via that company to the user that signed up and also to the user that provided the Referral.
A Referral is a Referral code listed on RefBounty. Each Referral will have a reward from the Program itself, as well as an additional payout of at least $5 offered by the user who listed the Referral.
A Bounty is when a user pledges to use a Referral offered by another user.
You do not need to have any account balance to create a Referral, but if you don't have enough balance to cover the reward then it will not be offered as a Bounty to other users.
Listing a Code
Visit the Create Referral page and fill out the required information in the form. Please note that you can only list one code per Program.
In general, you should choose a Bounty Reward that is profitable for you. For example, if a Program pays you $20 every time someone signs up with your code, set a reward from $5-$15. The higher your reward is, the more likely your Referral will be offered as a Bounty to users. RefBounty will always prioritize the highest eligible Bounty Reward for users seeking to receive Bounties.
If you don't see the Program you want to create a Referral for, you can click request a new program to submit a request to add a Program to RefBounty!
Getting Approval
Once you submit a Referral, it will show up in Existing Referrals, but it will not be immediately offered to other users yet. There is an approval process for each Referral in RefBounty to help combat spam. You will be notified via Discord when your Referral is approved and listed on RefBounty!
Handling Denied Referral
If for some reason your Referral is declined, you will receive a reason via Discord. You can click Edit on the Referral and make the requested changes, then it will be sent back for review.
Funding your Account
After your Referral is approved, it is now available on RefBounty. As mentioned above:
You do not need to have any account balance to create a Referral, but if you don't have enough balance to cover the reward then it will not be offered as a Bounty to other users.
In order to have your Referral offered as a Bounty, you must fund your account with at least as much balance as the Bounty reward.
Option 1 - Receive Bounty Funding
You can fund your Referrals with balance from receiving Bounties on RefBounty, see Tutorial - Receive Bounty
Option 2 - Bitcoin Funding
You can also fund your Referrals externally using Bitcoin!
To do this, visit the Payment Dashboard, and click Add Funds. You will be redirected to a unique invoice for your account where you can send any amount in Bitcoin either on-chain or with Lightning.
Your balance on RefBounty will be tracked in CAD, so the exchange rate for the transaction will be visible on the invoice at the time when you are funding your account. After your payment is received, your balance will automatically be updated.
